2nd Graduation Ceremony, 2019 - 24

MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru celebrated the 2nd Graduation Ceremony 2019-2024 on the 10th of August, 2024 at 11: 00 AM at Mangala Mantapa, MKPM RVILS. The Chief Guest of the day was Hon'ble Mr. Justice Aravind Kumar, Judge, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. Justice Aravind Kumar delivered a compelling address emphasizing the importance of Honesty, Humility, and Humbleness. Justice Aravind pointed out that hard work is the mantra for success and stressed that cultivating these virtues is essential for students aiming to achieve their highest potential. In his inspiring speech, Justice Kumar shared anecdotes from the life of Swami Vivekananda, highlighting how his experiences and teachings can motivate and guide students toward greatness. Justice Kumar also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students of the 10th semester B.A., LL.B., and B.B.A., LL.B. programs, celebrating their successful completion of their academic journey. Additionally, Justice Kumar reflected on the illustrious ancient universities of Nalanda and Takshashila, drawing inspiration from their esteemed legacies. He urged the MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies to set its sights on achieving comparable levels of excellence and prestige. By aspiring to these historic benchmarks, he envisioned a future where the institute could attain similar heights of academic and scholarly acclaim. Dr. M.P. Shyam, President of the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, Bengaluru, emphasized the importance of maintaining a relentless hunger for knowledge. He expressed his gratitude to Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R. and the faculty members of the MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies for their dedication and support. In his address, Dr. Shyam spoke warmly to the graduating students, offering them heartfelt congratulations and encouraging them to continue their pursuit of knowledge with passion and enthusiasm. The program was also graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal of MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, who delivered a heartfelt welcome address. The Principal congratulated the graduating students of both the 10th semester B.A., LL.B., and B.B.A., LL.B. programs, acknowledging their hard work, dedication, and achievements. He emphasized that the graduates are an integral part of MKPM RVILS, underscoring their important role in the institute’s legacy and future. The Principal also rendered the oath for the students, reinforcing the values and responsibilities they carry as future legal professionals. His kind words of encouragement and praise set a positive tone for the celebration, inspiring the students to continue striving for excellence in their academic and professional pursuits. Achievers of the batch were awarded outgoing awards along with mementos for all the students.

Annual Day, 2023- 24

MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru, celebrated its Annual Day for the academic year 2023-24 on August 3, 2024, at 10:30 am at Mangala Mantapa, MKPM RVILS. The event was graced by the presence of Hon'ble Mr. Justice B. M. Shyam Prasad, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest. Sir emphasized the importance of aspiring for a career in the judiciary during law school. Dr. M. K. Ramesh, Distinguished Jurist Professor, HNLU, Raipur, and Former Professor of Law, NLSIU, Bengaluru, was the Guest of Honour. He highlighted the significance of extending learning beyond the confines of classrooms. The programme was presided over by Sri. P. S. Nandakumar, Member, Governing Council, MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, and Trustee, RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru, who spoke about the institute's growth. The programme was also chaired by the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R. who rendered the welcome address. Our students showcased their talents on the stage and the academic achievers of the previous academic year and other achievers were presented with awards and mementos during the program

International Yoga Day, 2024

National Service Scheme in association with Legal Services Clinic and Department of Physical Education, RVILS conducted a programme in light of International Yoga Day, 2024 on 21st June, 2024 at 7:30 AM. The programme was led by Mr. Srinivasa S. M., Assistant Director, Department of Physical Education, RVILS and was attended by volunteers of NSS, Legal Services Clinic and others. Ms. Athira L. Raj, student of 8th Semester B.A.,LL.B., who is a certified yoga instructor with 11 years of experience also helped in the smooth functioning of the programme. The programme included a one-hour yoga session and covered various asanas including Pranamasana, Hasta Uttanasana, Padahastana, etc. The session was also attended by the faculty members and other staff of the institution.

World Environment Day, 2024

RV Institute of Legal Studies celebrated World Environment Day in association with Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, High Court Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, District Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru Urban and Advocates’ Association, Bengaluru on 5th June 2024 at Mangala Mantapa, RV Institute of Legal Studies. The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Justice K. Somashekar, Judge, High Court of Karnataka.

Shri. Vivek Subba Reddy, President, Advocates Association, Bengaluru, & Shri. M.L. Raghunath, District Judge & Member Secretary, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, & Shri. Muralidhara Pai.B, Principal City Civil & Sessions Judge & Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru Urban were the guest of honours. The programme was presided by Dr. M.P Shyam, President, RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru and our Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, RVILS.

The programme was inaugurated by planting the saplings in the college premises by the Dignitaries, followed by the programme at the auditorium.

2ND ALL INDIA MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2024

RV Institute of Legal Studies organized 2nd All India Moot Court Competition, 2024 from 1st - 3rd March, 2024. The programme was inaugurated on 1st March, 2024 by Hon'ble Mr. Justice V. Gopala Gowda, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, Sri. K. Shashi Kiran Shetty, Advocate General of Karnataka and CA Dr. A.S. Vishnu Bharath, Chairman, Governing Council, RVILS and Trustee, RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru. The event was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS. The Final Round was judged and the valedictory ceremony was graced by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Krishna S. Dixit, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Vijaykumar A. Patil, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Dr. M. Sunil Sastry, Advocate, High Court of Karnataka. The Valedictory event was presided by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru accompanied by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS.

The winners for the Competition was Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, School of Excellence in Law, Chennai and Runners Up was K.L.E. 's G.K. Law College, Hubballi.

FRESHERS DAY FOR THE SIXTH BATCH OF 2023-24

Fresher’s Day for the sixth batch of B.A.LL.B. and B.B.A.LL.B., 5-Year Integrated Degree Courses for the Academic Year 2023-24 was organized on 16 th December, 2023. The guest for the event was Mr. Mankala Surya Teja, Alumni of RV Institute of Legal Studies. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal of RVILS along with teaching and non-teaching staff.

Inauguration and Orientation Programme

RV Institute of Legal Studies inaugurated the 6th Batch of B.A.LL.B. and B.B.A.LL.B., 5-Year Integrated Degree Courses for the Academic Year 2023-24 on 4th November, 2023 at Jayanthi Suryanarayana Chetty Auditorium, RV Teachers College, Bengaluru. The Chief Guest for the event was Hon'ble Mr. Justice M. Nagaprasanna, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru. The event was presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru. The 2nd Edition of the College Magazine "Samarthana" was released and inaugurated by our esteemed guests for the day.

The event was also graced by Sri. Anand Muttalli, Managing Partner, ATV Legal, Bengaluru. He was the guest for the Session on Insights into Legal Profession.

The inauguration programme was followed by the Orientation session where the upcoming students were briefed about the Academic Curriculum and the Rules and Regulations of the Institution.

Farewell

Students from 1st year to 4th year organized the First Farewell "Voyage of Memories" for the First Batch (2018-23) of RVILS. The event was graced by Prof.(Dr.) Anjina Reddy K R. Principal, RVILS along with faculties and Non-teaching staff.

Graduation Day

RV Institute of Legal Studies, on 20th August, 2023 conducted its Graduation Day Ceremony for its 1st Graduating Batch of 2018-2023 at Sivananda Sarma Kalakshetra, DAPM RV Dental College, J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru, to mark the academic journey of our students.

The Chief Guest for the event was Hon'ble Shri Justice Prasanna B. Varale, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru. The event was presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, Bengaluru. The event was also graced by the auspicious presence of the Members of the Board, Trustees of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust and Governing Council Members of RV Institute of Legal Studies.

This day marks a significant milestone in the lives of our graduates and their parents, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to knowledge.

Annual Day

RV Institute of Legal Studies, on 20th August, 2023 celebrated its Annual Day 2022-2023 at Sivananda Sarma Kalakshetra, DAPM RV Dental College, J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru. The event was graced by the auspicious presence of Hon'ble Mr. Justice R. Devdas, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru as the Chief Guest of the event. The event was presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, Bengaluru.

The programme commenced with a mesmerizing invocation dance by the students and the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. This was followed by a Welcome Address and reading of the Annual Report 2022-23. The Chief Guest then addressed the audience. The programme further continued with the prize distribution to all the students who had achieved excellence in academics, sports and various cultural events. The students were congratulated with applause and well wishes from the dignitaries. The president then delivered the presidential address reflecting upon the institutional values and achievements.

Role of Evidence in the Administration of Criminal Justice

One-Day Workshop on "Role of Evidence in the Administration of Criminal Justice" was organized on 5th July, 2023 at Shashwathi Auditorium for 4th and 5th year students of RVILS along with participants from other law colleges across Bengaluru.

The honorable guest speakers for the event were -

1. Shri Kamal Pant, Director General of Police (Recruitment), Bengaluru. He spoke on the topic- "Emerging Challenges of the Investigation"

2. Dr. Dinesh Rao, Prof. & HOD, Department of Forensic Medicine, AIIMS, Jammu. He spoke on the topic - "Role of Forensic Evidence in a Criminal Investigation"

3. Sri. K.B.K. Swamy, Senior Advocate, KBK Associates, Bengaluru. He spoke on the topic- "Criminal Justice and Trial Advocacy."

International Women's' Day

RVILS celebrated the International Women's Day 2023 in association with the Navajyothi School, Tattaguppe, Bangalore South, on 08-03-2023. The Prof. Dr. Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS, was the Chief Guest and A. Thomas, Father and Director of Navajyothi School, Presided the event. Ms. Safalya S. Wagle and Ms. Maithra Badagi, Assistant Professors of Law delivered awareness lectures on the topics “Good Touch- Bad Touch” and on “Menstrual Hygiene” for the benefit of the girl students of the Navajyothi school.

Human Rights Skit Competition

On 26/12/2022, in commemoration of International Human Rights Day, an Inter Class Skit Competition was organised by the Human Rights Cell on the topic ‘Human Right’. A total of 07 teams participated and the following teams won the prizes:
1. I place: V semester, B.A., LL.B.
2. II place: VII semester, B.A., LL.B.
3. III place: I semester, B.A., LL.B.

Annual Day

The RV Institute of Legal Studies celebrated its Annual Day 2021-22 on the 17th of September, 2022 at the Shashwathi Auditorium. The day’s events began at 10:30 am and witnessed by all the students and faculties of the institution. The celebration was graced by several dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. C. Basavaraju, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and the Guest of Honour, Prof. Dr. Sudesh V., Professor, University Law College, Bengaluru. The event was presided over by Sri. P.S. Nandakumar, Trustee of RSST with Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RV Institute of Legal Studies in attendance.

The beginning of the event was marked by a mesmerising bharathanatyam dance performances by the students and the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. This was followed by the deliverance of the welcome speech by the Principal. The Chief Guest then addressed the audience emphasising on the importance of cultural values and humility, and using the legal profession as a tool for societal betterment. This was followed by a speech by the Guest of Honour who encouraged the students to make best use of the opportunities and facilities provided to them during their legal education. The President then delivered the Presidential address reflecting upon the institutional achievements. The programme then continued with the prize distribution to all those students who had achieved excellence in academics, sports and in various cultural events. The students were congratulated with applause and well wishes from the dignitaries.

Faculty Development Programme

A One Day Faculty Development Programme on Professional Excellence for Teachers was organised on 10th June, 2022. It was attended by teaching faculty of various institutions. The programme had 3 sessions with Dr. T.V. Raju, Director Planning, RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru; Dr. S. Ranganath, Former director, RV Institute of Sanskrit Studies, Bengaluru; and Sri Jayasimha, Professional Trainer, Bengaluru, as the resource persons.
